Are 2 Tablespoons Enough?

We’re often asked this question…

Are 2 tablespoons REALLY enough for my breakfast?

Yes, indeed!

Are 2 tablespoons REALLY enough for my breakfast?

Holy Crap is the healthiest cereal you’ll ever eat!

Brian Mullins Co-founder of Holy Crap Cereal

Ingredients

  • 2 T. Holy Crap or Skinny B cereal
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) water for Holy Crap cereal or 1/2 cup (120 ml) water for Skinny B cereal
  • 1/4 - 1/2 cup of yogurt (coconut milk, almond milk, hemp or soy milk for vegan option)

Directions

  1. Add 1/4 cup of water to 2 tablespoons of Holy Crap cereal or 1/2 cup of water to 2 tablespoons of Skinny B cereal. Skinny B requires more liquid as it contains a higher concentration of chia. Chia absorbs 9 X's its size in liquid.
  2. Stir gently and let sit for 5 minutes. You'll see the cereal expand nearly twice its volume as the seeds absorb the water.
  3. Stir in 1/4 to 1/2 cup of yogurt or non-diary milk.

I just tried Holy Crap today and really enjoyed it! I have been on a mission to eat healthy and stay away from processed cereals. I literally said "Holy Crap" when I took the first bite I was surprised how good it was. Keep up the good work and I will be ordering on line real soon.

I mix 1 – 2 tablespoons to instant Quaker Oats hot cereal, let stand for 5 minutes and enjoy! This is great especially during the cold winter months.

  5. Sylvia says:

Do you have to soak the cereal or can you eat it in yogurt without soaking it – to get the nutritional value from it ?

    • Claudia says:

Yes, you can soak the cereal directly in yogurt without pre-soaking in water.

That’s how I eat it. I add about 1/2 cup of yogurt to 2 Tablespoons, stir and let sit for about 5 minutes for seeds to hydrate.

There is no change in nutritional value for preparing either way – soaking allows the seeds to soften and more pleasant to eat than eating them dry.

For those of us who have never tried this product, can we not buy just one bag to see if we like it? $65 plus taxes for 6 bags would be a lot to spend on a product you’ve never had..and might not like?

    • Claudia says:

      Hi Diane,
There are over 2,000 stores across Canada selling our cereal by the bag. Check out the store locator to find one near you. Thanks for your interest!

Where in Nova Scotia can I purchase this?

  8. Nick says:

Is there anything wrong with eating more than 2 tablespoons? Like, say maybe 4 or 5?

    • Claudia says:

      Hi Nick,
2 T. is a full serving. You can eat a double serving if you like. If you’re not already eating a high-fiber diet you might want to start by eating 1 serving a day for 4 or 5 days before starting to eat a double serving.

Often have much more than 2….. But then again, its usually after coming off a workout. eat probably around 7, haha.
